| Arthur Pollard trained as a cabinet maker and then toured the country working with London North Western Railway and later London Midland and Scottish Railway working on their advertising locations before setting up The Business in April 1924.
Arthur's son Ronald joined the company in 1935 and following his active war service returned to take over the business, which flourished with more stock being available post war, the expansion of the farming industry and the proposed expansion of Bletchley.
Ronald's son John joined the business in 1959 and was joined in 1971 by William Kirby now the joint Managing Directors. With the development of Milton Keynes they have continued the growth of the company and alongside the ironmongery have developed a substantial tool and cleaning supplies department.
